Selling is like cilantro: most people either love it or hate it. Regardless of how it makes you feel, sales is an invaluable skill for anyone that seeks to influence the decisions, actions or behavior of others. Join us for an enlightening EntrepreNerds book discussion about Improving Your Sales-Ability so that you're being authentic and true to you. We will explore insights from the readings such as:
  •     Re-Thinking Sales
  •     Relationships and Selling
  •     Tips for Improving Sales-Ability
How it Works:
Everyone reads a relevant book (blog or article) of their choice before the meeting and ponders 4 pre discussion questions to help focus the conversation.

Recommended Reading :
To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others by Daniel Pink
In this witty and inspiring read, Pink makes the case for “re-thinking of sales as we know it,” a notion that should resonate with anyone that has a negative perception of sales people. He argues that anyone (and therefore everyone) who seeks to influence the actions, decisions and behavior of others is in sales. Pink empowers the reader to embrace selling with authenticity, resilience and service to others by reframing the ABC's of selling “Always Be Closing”.

How I Raised Myself from Failture to Success in Selling by Frank Bettger
This isn’t just a book about how to be successful at selling, it is the story of a man who took a disciplined approach to his own professional development. About ready to call it quits, Bettger turned his life around by first changing his attitude. He provides valuable insight and inspiration about how to embrace sales with enthusiasm and ease. Bettger also relays wisdom in his book that is timeless and refreshing. He gets to the core of how to succeed at sales, which is why his recommendations are still relevant in the 21st century.

Don't have time to read a book before Friday?
You can be a prepared and valuable contributor (AKA a good student) in just 30 minutes.  Watch this 20 minute interview with Daniel Pink, ponder the pre-discussion questions and you'll be ready to engage in the discussion.

(EntrepreNerds has partnered with Firehouse Books in Old Town to offer a 20% off discount to book discussion attendees)

About EntrepreNerds:
EntrepreNerds is the brain child of Ariana Friedlander.  Six months into starting her business, Ariana began to realize that there was a lot about being an entrepreneur she needed to learn in order to succeed.  A dedicated lifelong learner, she yearned for a supportive community of fellow entrepreneurs that read business books and discussed their experiences applying the concepts to real life.  And so EntrepreNerds was born, with the first Book Discussion happening on March 1, 2012.  Participating in this simple yet profound and engaging professional development program makes the difference between success and failure.  EntrepreNerds Book Discussion participants benefit from making meaningful connections while expanding their knowledge.  As a result, participants are empowered to implement new techniques, behaviors and strategies to successfully grow their business.
